Add-on Functional Labs

Kryptopyrrole Test: measures the level of kryptopyrrole in urine. When high levels of kryptopyrrole a neurotoxin circulate in the body, it binds with Vitamin B6 and zinc causing them to be depleted faster and preventing their use in the brain and body.

COMT Test: in order to function efficiently, the prefrontal cortex requires signaling by neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine. COMT (Catechol-O-Methyltransferase) helps maintain appropriate levels of these neurotransmitters in this part of the brain.

MTHFR Test: The MTHFR gene, technically referred to as Methyltetrahydrofolate reductase, is a key enzyme required to metabolise homocysteine. Mutations of the MTHFR gene may cause elevated blood levels of homocysteine.

Neurotransmitter Panel: This is a test to help further gain insight into your body’s ability to make and break down neurotransmitters.  Therefore, abnormal levels of neurotransmitters in the urine may provide important clinical information.

Medication Review Test: If you are on or thinking about taking a pharmaceutical medication for mental health, this test can show you which medications you’re more likely to respond to and which ones you might have more side effects with based on your unique genetic profile.
